Love the atmosphere here, the service is great and the pub is lovely. My sister and I meet here as its halfway between Brighton and Cardiff and we love everything about the place.
Fairly standard middle of nowhere gastropub really. That's to say the food is fine, if a bit overpriced. Reasonable selection of beers on offer, and the location is nice enough.My main gripe was that the service took what felt like an eternity. We were a group of 9, but even so, were left waiting for a long time for food. The place didn't seem particularly busy, so I'm not sure what the hold-up was.
We had our wedding reception here so wanted to go back for my birthday. The menu that we looked at online wasn't available and the vegetarian options were quite limited. The quality of the food was good however and they gave us free dessert.
A nice country pub with very friendly staff. Honest homemade food. Rooms very clean with comfy beds, small criticism as slightly lacking on character and have very thin walls so you can hear if anything is happening outside. I felt the pub was priced just a little to high for what was being offered when compared to competitors in the area, but overall a very nice pub with good food.
We went here for lunch twice. The first time the service was good and the sandwiches were nice. The second time the staff were rude and inattentive and the food was AWFUL. Cold wedges and sandwiches on thin supermarket value bread with barely any filling. Really disappointed as it's a good spot for our family to meet up. Wouldn't go again.
